The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) chapter at Villanova University recently participated in the 2018 Mid-Colonial Collegiate Traffic Bowl in Philadelphia, PA. Four teams competed in the annual jeopardy-style tournament, with the winner advancing to the national competition in Minneapolis, Minnesota this summer.

Villanova placed second overall in this year’s competition, with a team comprised entirely of undergraduate students. Christopher Medora, David Harvey and Nathaniel Gallishaw, all senior Civil Engineering majors, competed against Penn State, University of Delaware, and Morgan State University. Both Penn State and Delaware brought teams of master’s and PhD students, making Villanova’s performance even more impressive. The students were accompanied by Dr. Leslie McCarthy, Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Also turning out to cheer on the Villanova team were recent alumni Patrick McTish ’14 CE, ’15 MSCE and Miles Devine ’16 CE, ‘19 MSCE and incoming ITE President Tommy Luo ’19 CE.
