Peter Fong ME ’86, MBA ’95 Tapped to Be Chrysler Executive

Chrysler Group, LLC, has announced that Peter L. Fong ME ’86, MBA ’95 will be the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chrysler brand. Fong also will head up the company’s sales organization for the Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep brands. In his most recent position, Fong had been overseeing Chrysler’s Mid-Atlantic Business Center.

Before joining Chrysler in August 2008, Fong had served as Ford Motor Company’s Regional Manager, Mid-Atlantic Market/Ford & Lincoln Mercury Sales Operations. He was elected to Ford’s elite Marketing Leadership Program and received the 1999 Automotive Hall of Fame Young Leadership and Excellence Award.

From 1986 to 1994, Fong served in the U.S. Navy, first as a naval aviator, instructor, and test pilot, and later as the senior class instructor and advisor for the Villanova University Naval ROTC Unit.

Fong was elected to the Villanova University Alumni Association in 2006. He serves on the Awards and Recognition Committee and the Corporate Relations Committee. He also is the College of Engineering Liaison and the Annual Giving Liaison.

At the 32nd annual reception and awards ceremony in September 2008, Villanova’s Engineering Alumni Society presented Fong with a Professional Achievement Award.
