Study Abroad

According to the Institute of International Education, only 5 percent of U.S. engineering majors study abroad. At Villanova University, that figure is an impressive 22 percent. Individual departments have mapped out course selections to enable students to take advantage of study abroad opportunities, whether for a summer, a semester or an entire academic year. Your faculty advisor along with the Office of Education Abroad, will be happy to work with you to make your international education experience a reality.

Villanova Engineering Service Learning (VESL)

VESL builds a commitment to lifelong learning and service with a global perspective. Villanova engineers have been engaged on 40 projects with 17 partners in 12 countries, including the United States. Teams design schools, water systems, renewable energy solutions, transportation infrastructure, communication systems and humanitarian technologies. Such experiences are life-changing—not only for the real-world application of engineering skills, but also for the valuable connections students forge with their host communities.

VESL opportunities include 1-2 week field immersion projects over fall, winter and spring breaks; 8-week summer internships; and year of service opportunities.
