Online Biochemical Engineering Program

A concentration in Biochemical Engineering, administered by the Chemical Engineering Department, is available to graduate students matriculating in the College of Engineering. This certificate program is a concentration of courses that introduce the fundamentals of Biochemical Engineering, and topics supporting the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical industries.

This sequence of courses will be offered at a frequency of approximately once every two years. A student may start the sequence at any time and complete the certificate in more than two years. The courses may be taken in any order, although it is recommended that CHE 8588 and CHE 8589, Biochemical Engineering I and II be completed in consecutive semesters.

 

Certificate Requirements

The Biochemical Engineering Certificate consists of the two required courses and two elective courses.

Students with a grade point average of 3.00 or above in the four approved courses will receive a certificate indicating the successful completion of the Biochemical Engineering Certificate.

Application Information

A graduate student interested in the Biochemical Engineering Certificate should make application to a specific engineering department. Once accepted into the College of Engineering graduate program, they should contact the Chemical Engineering Department regarding this Certificate.
