Q: What was your career path after graduation?
A: After graduating at the top of my class from Villanova, I earned my master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. I then worked for IBM in their Think Tank Future Systems Division, developing their next computer. After getting married, I moved to Philadelphia where I worked for IBM under contract to the Navy as a helicopter systems test engineer. I've been in multiple fields, but the constants are that I've always been involved in systems and processes, and I've always been at the cutting edge of everything I have done.
Q: What are you doing now?
A: After teaching engineering at Temple University as an assistant professor, I started my own company, Caramanico Maguire Associates, consulting with CEOs and executive VPs in sales force development. I've also been a licensed family therapist for 35 years. My engineering background has made it possible for me to do innovative, creative work in both sales force development and therapy. I have loved everything I have worked on and that has made it never seem like work.
