November 2015

Dear Faculty, Students and Staff:

As Villanovans, we understand better than most the importance of community. The Villanova community that means so much to each of us extends well beyond the physical borders of our campus. We are a global community, with students studying in, and hailing from, all around the world. Our faculty, staff and alumni also come from countries near and far, which makes the tragic events in Paris hit even more closely to home—and to our hearts.

Villanova doesn't have any students studying in Paris this semester. However, there are 186 Villanovans studying in Europe.  We have been in contact with the majority of them and thankfully they are safe and well.  We will continue to reach out until all students have been accounted for during this period of unrest.

The horrific attacks in Paris this weekend are incredibly troubling. In times like this, it’s comforting and powerful to show our solidarity with those affected by these tragic events. In that spirit, I invite all members of our community to come together in prayer at today’s 5:30 p.m. Mass to show our support.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the city of Paris, the French people and all those affected by this horrible act of terror.

Sincerely,
