Principles of Fundraising

Offered by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Villanova University, Office of Continuing Studies.

Learn how to identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors from among individuals, foundations and corporations. Through this course, you will develop an inventory of skills for meeting the challenges of the fundraising profession.

Course Description

Effective fundraising requires sophisticated methods of identifying, cultivating and soliciting potential donors.  This course provides an overview of the techniques needed to succeed.  We have selected a faculty of leading development professionals to share their knowledge and extensive experience.  Through this course, you will develop an inventory of skills for meeting the challenges of the fundraising profession.

Accreditation and Course Certificate

This course is cosponsored by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of AFP and Villanova University. Villanova will award 3 CEU's (Continuing Education Units) and a Certificate of Achievement for successful completion of the program.

CEUs apply toward the eligibility requirements of the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation.  The CFRE certification is awarded to individuals who have met the standards of professional practice and ethics set by the CFRE Professional Certification Board, a partnership program of AFP, Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, Association of Lutheran Development Executives, National Catholic Development Conference and national Council for Resource Development

Registrants will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Registration is not available for individual program topics.

$750.00 – Non-Member  (CRN 23070)

Scholarships:

Several partial scholarships for this course are available to individuals employed as fundraising professionals with one to five years of experience in the field.  Scholarships are awarded on t he basis of organizational need and career potential.  Go to www.afpgpc.org to download an application.  The deadline is August 23, 2013.
