what goes in when i am building my site?

when choosing where to start, look for places where you can include these super-important elements:

  • photo of yourself
  • your resume
  • examples of your work--think presentations, written work, class assignments that really show your stuff
  • links to linkedin, your professional twitter feed, your professional instagram page
  • blog about what you love, either work or personal, and include it on your site

some other things to think about including:

  • examples of your charitable work
  • photos and details of your study abroad experience
  • endorsements from past employers (professional or non-professional...if you were babysitting or working as a lifeguard, those count too)
  • endorsements from your favorite faculty members
  • your personal hobbies and what you like to do in your free time. think just a photo or two, and a short blurb, and always keep this professional.

remember, the more you put yourself out there by blogging, instagramming, tweeting and writing about your favorite brands, careers and topics, the more you can build your story for a future employer.

now have at it, have some fun, and get creative, and share that online brand with the world!
