No matter the level of technical skills career success will be determined by the mastery of the principles taught in the study of management. As a Management major, students learn tools for effective teamwork, leadership, organizational dynamics, organizational culture, strategic planning, change management, and human resource management. Students have the opportunity to develop and refine the analytical, quantitative, and communication skills that are critical for a successful professional career, to start a company, or to pursue graduate study in business or law.
Major Requirements
In addition to the core curriculum, each student must take courss specific to their declared major. These requirements are listed below.
Required Courses:
Plus three (3) Management elective courses (ENT 202, Entrepreneurial Management, also fulfills a Management elective course.)
Student Societies and Extracurricular Activities
The Management Society brings guest speakers to campus to discuss the latest management practices and career opportunities, and sponsors business plan competitions.
Students who study management will not only be provided with a practical, hands-on education, but a curriculum that complements VSB’s academic experience by offering opportunities outside the classroom. These opportunities include research seminars, field trips, internships, and study abroad programs.
