The University Career Center provides students with assistance in developing and refining professional skills necessary for success in the internship and job search process. Click here to access the Career Center’s guidelines on topics including resume writing, professional correspondence, interviewing and Skype interviews, networking, on-site company visits, social media and job searching, and dressing for success.
Networking is perhaps the most powerful ways to gain knowledge about a specific profession or industry and to make contacts for the internship or job search. NovaNetwork and Career Connections provide an entire network of contacts.
NovaNetwork is Villanova’s online alumni directory. VU seniors are provided an account during the fall of their graduating year; other students may gain access to the alumni directory by meeting to discuss a plan of action with a University Career Center career counselor.
Career Connections, a subset of NovaNetwork to which ALL Villanova students have access, is comprised of alumni who have voluntarily elected to assist students in an information-sharing and/or mentoring capacity. The system allows students to contact alumni who are interested in helping with the career exploration journey. Click here for instructions on how to use this powerful resource.
