VSB’s Quinetta Roberson, PhD, Named Vice President-Elect of the Academy of Management

Villanova, Pa., May 9, 2017 – Quinetta Roberson, PhD, Fred J. Springer Endowed Chair in Business Leadership and Professor of Management at the Villanova School of Business (VSB), has been elected Vice President-Elect/Program-Chair Elect of the Academy of Management (AOM). With a membership of nearly 20,000 professors and PhD students from business schools in over 125 countries, AOM is the preeminent professional association for management and organization scholars.

“We are very proud of Dr. Roberson and believe that this acknowledgement is a testament to the incredible faculty we have here at VSB,” said Joyce E. A. Russell, PhD, the Helen and William O’Toole Dean of VSB.

“I am honored and humbled to have been elected by my peers within the Academy for this leadership role,” said Dr. Roberson. “As an active member of AOM for more than 20 years, I have served in various capacities within the organization, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to impact the profession in this way. I truly look forward to the next five years.”

Dr. Roberson will follow a five-year leadership track, through which she will move from Vice President of the AOM (2018-2019), to President-Elect (2019-2020), to President (2020-2021) and lastly to Past President (2021-2022).

At VSB, Dr. Roberson teaches and researches human resource management and organizational behavior, specializing in diversity and inclusion, talent management, managing global teams, and leadership. Prior to Villanova, she worked as a financial analyst and earned her PhD from the University of Maryland. She is the former associate professor of Human Resource Studies at Cornell University, and has been published in many top journals in her field.
