Villanova, PA, February 4, 2015 - Russell Gianforcaro ’86 VSB was promoted to Regional President of AmeriHealth Caritas, a national leader in Medicaid managed care and other health care solutions for those most in need. In his new role, Gianforcaro oversees all three of AmeriHealth Caritas’ Pennsylvania Medical Assistance plans, along with AmeriHealth District of Columbia. The Market Presidents of those plans will report to him. Gianforcaro will report to AmeriHealth Caritas Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Paul Tufano.
“Russell is an accomplished health care executive. His passion for the members we serve is inspiring,” said Tufano.
Gianforcaro is a health care leader with 20 years of experience in publicly funded health programs. He first joined AmeriHealth Caritas in 2006 as Chief Financial Officer for its Southeastern Pennsylvania plan. He was promoted to Chief Financial Officer for all AmeriHealth Caritas’ Pennsylvania managed care plans in 2008 before assuming the Southeastern Pennsylvania Executive Director (now Market President) position in 2011.
Russell Gianforcaro received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Villanova University. He is also a graduate of the executive program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
