Villanova, PA, January 30, 2014 – The Villanova School of Business (VSB) announces that two master’s degrees will be available online starting in the fall of 2014: the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA).

The online MBA is a new addition to VSB’s highly-ranked part-time MBA program. Students will now have the option to complete the Villanova MBA in one of three program tracks – the Online Track, the Flex Track or the Fast Track. With the online MBA, students earn the very same Villanova MBA—with the same curriculum, taught by the same faculty—in a convenient and flexible online format. It consists of 21 courses taken over six 14-week semesters—each of which is divided into two seven-week terms—and can be completed in as few as two years. It also includes an intensive residency in the first or second semester and an international immersion in an emerging market. Although the program is delivered online, students will have access to the community-building aspects of a campus-based program, including invitations to campus events, opportunities to develop strong relationships with faculty and peers, assistance from a responsive support staff and access to a strong, active alumni network.

The MSA program is VSB’s newest graduate business offering and will be available in an online format only. It is designed to expose students to the whole analytics continuum from data collection through analysis through implementation and use. It teaches students critical analytics skills and transforms them into business analysts prepared to assist organizations in developing and sustaining a unique competitive advantage. “The MSA program was specifically designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to become a professional analyst,” said Matthew Liberatore, the John F. Connelly Chair in Management and Director of VSB’s Center for Business Analytics. “It addresses how to identify, capture, process and analyze the data needed to gain key insights that will enable organizations to improve their processes and decision making.” The 33-credit hour program consists of 10 foundation and core courses plus an application-based practicum project in the final capstone course. The program’s 14-week semesters are divided into two 7-week terms, and it can completed in as few as 20 months.

“Innovation in technology is changing the face of the business world,” said Patrick G. Maggitti, the Helen and William O’Toole Dean of the Villanova School of Business. “The online MBA and MSA degrees that we now offer will enable us to deliver our high quality, top-ranked programs in a cutting-edge, convenient format.”
