Villanova, PA, May 2, 2013 - Six Villanova School of Business (VSB) students placed second in the USC International Real Estate Case Competition that took place at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California (USC). Michael O’Neill ’14 VSB, Michael Torsiello ’13 VSB, Paul Mascola ’13 VSB, Anthony DiSilvestro ’13 VSB, Kyle Grant ’14 VSB, and Nicholas Turchak ’13 VSB comprised Villanova’s team. The team outperformed NYU and USC in morning rounds and the University of Wisconsin in the finals.
The International Real Estate Case Competition consisted of a written report and oral presentation responding to a real estate case that was presented before a panel of judges. Teams were given five days to complete their analysis and presentation. The event was limited to a handful of universities with leading real estate finance programs including USC, San Diego, Texas, Wisconsin, Colorado, NYU, Ohio State, Singapore and Villanova. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three teams.
The Real Estate co-major or minor at the Villanova School of Business provides students with an understanding of real estate investment and development. The curriculum connects commercial real estate theory and practices through site visits, case studies, expert perspectives, and industry-standard software tools.
