The MSF Fellows program is a competitive graduate assistantship program that allows students to pursue their MSF degree with reduced tuition charges, while obtaining a realistic view of academic research. Many of our past Fellows have pursued their PhD after their experience at VSB.
Fellows are incoming MSF students selected to assist VSB faculty with their research activities during the fall and spring semesters. The Fellows work under the supervision of the faculty member to whom they are assigned for 10 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters (totaling 140 hrs/semester).
Based on availability and faculty requests, Fellows may be able to start their program during the summer semester. Fellows may not be engaged in additional employment or an internship while participating in the program.
MSF Fellows are provided 50% remission of tuition and fees during each semester of their fellowship. Additionally, they are awarded a stipend of $6550.00 for the academic year paid in nine monthly installments (September-May) on the last Friday of the month.
The total award for the 2012-13 academic year was an approximately $18,000 package.
