Application Process

Beginning in Fall 2018, our Masters in Accountancy (MAC) degree will become a full-time, year-long academic program. The inaugural cohort for the new format will begin in August 2018 and graduate in May 2019. Additional details on the revised curriculum and class schedule will be available soon, so please check back in Fall 2017 for these exciting programmatic changes as well as to access the MAC application for Fall 2018. We know you are concerned about the admissions metrics—the average test scores, GPA range, and work experience of our student population. But at VSB, there is more to our students than a one-dimensional pie chart. A successful academic track record and a resume that reflects career progress just aren't enough.

Our students are unique. They come to VSB looking for professional growth, personal development, and to challenge those around them to become stronger business leaders. As part of our MAC evaluation process, we review candidate transcripts for the following pre-requisites to be completed prior to the start of classes:

  • Intermediate Accounting I
  • Intermediate Accounting II
  • Federal Income Tax
  • Audit

Application Requirements

  1. Completed online application for admission. Application will be available in August 2017.
  2. Official transcripts of academic credentials
    One official transcript from each postsecondary educational institution for which nine credit hours or more of course work was taken must be sent to the Graduate Business Office via the information above. Villanova alumni must have their transcripts sent officially through the Registrar's office to the Graduate Business Office.
  3. Two letters of recommendation
    Recommendations can be professional references from individuals who know you in an employment setting (internships work as well) and are written by a current/previous supervisor. For those students who do not have work experience, academic recommendations are welcomed. Please refrain from using personal recommendations (family, friends, etc.). 
  4. Resume
    Please prepare a business resume that includes your educational and professional information. 
  5. Two Essays
    The essay questions can be found on the online application.
  6. Non-refundable $65 application fee
    All applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee of $65. The fee is to be paid by credit card on the online application site when you submit.
  7. OPTIONAL: Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
    MAC Applicants are not required to take the GMAT. Please arrange for official reports to be sent directly to Villanova University (Program Code: 8PP-NJ-48). We do not accept the GRE score in place of the GMAT. The Admissions Committee will consider your highest score if you have taken the test more than once.
