General Questions

Is the Flex Track program offered at the Center City Philadelphia location?

Yes, some Flex Track courses are available at the Center City Philadelphia location. Not all classes are available each semester, so you may need to take some courses on the Main Campus, but you can complete many classes in Center City.

Is The Villanova MBA Flex Track program accredited?

Yes. All programs offered by the Villanova School of Business are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the professional accrediting body for business schools.

How long will it take to complete the Flex Track program?

The typical length for completion is 3 to 5 years. The length of time to complete the program varies depending on the number of courses taken each semester and whether you take summer classes. A student who is employed full-time can take a maximum of two courses per semester and during the summer session. It is possible for a student who is employed fewer than 20 hours per week to attend full-time by taking 3 or 4 courses per semester and 2 courses during the summer session.

Are online classes available?

Campus-based students can take up to 9 credits in the online track; these classes are designated as –OLA or –OLB in the course schedule.  In addition, select online and distance learning classes are offered solely for campus-based MBA students, for which there is not a credit limit. Flex Track students can enroll in any of the available online track –OLA/ –OLB classes or campus-based distance learning sections; Fast Track students can enroll in available online track –OLA/ –OLB or campus-based distance learning elective sections and must complete all other required classes with their cohort.

How many credits do I need to complete to receive my MBA?

To fulfill the requirements of the new Flex Track MBA curriculum, candidates must complete 48 credits.

Is it possible to transfer credits from another MBA program?

You may transfer up to 9 credits from another AACSB accredited MBA program to satisfy relevant requirements. Prior approval is necessary.

Can any courses be waived?

No, courses can't be waived based on undergraduate coursework.

Are there specializations in the Flex Track program?

Yes. You may specialize in Finance, Analytics, Health Care Administration, International Business, MIS, Marketing, Real Estate, Cyber Security, Sustainability, or Strategic Management.

How many courses are required for a specialization?

7.5 credit hours of study are required for a specialization.

Are all students required to select a specialization?

No, students may select electives from any business discipline and receive a general MBA.

Are there any requirements regarding the selection of electives?

Your curriculum requires you to take a total of 10 electives. Electives will be classified by specific subject areas which will be listed in the comments section of each course on Novasis.

  • You are required to complete at least 4 elective courses that are multi-disciplinary (covering two or more subject areas).
  • For those interested in a specific concentration, 5 courses will need to be taken in the respective area. Courses covering multiple subject areas can be double counted toward separate concentrations.

No, you must be accepted to the program in order to take any classes in the program.

Class Schedule

When do classes meet?

Classes meet once a week, Monday to Thursday, usually from 6 to 8:45 p.m. (fall and spring). Summer classes meet from 6 to 9 p.m. There are occasional Saturday classes that meet from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. (over 11 weeks).

Fall and spring semesters meet for 15 weeks each and the summer session meets for 9 weeks.

Application Process

When is the application deadline?

The application deadline for fall admission is June 30; the deadline for spring admission is November 15. All application documents must be received by the deadline. Applicants interested in enrolling in the summer session must submit credentials by March 31.

Fees and Financial Aid

What is the cost of tuition?

For the 2017-2018 academic year tuition is $1,005 per credit. A $50 general fee is charged each semester.

Information regarding financial assistance available to graduate students may be obtained from the Villanova University Office of Financial Assistance.

Are scholarships available?

The MBA Fellows Program is an assistantship that allows students to pursue their MBA on a full time basis, free of tuition charges, while obtaining paid research experience and exposure to faculty members.

Fast Track

General Questions

Is The Villanova MBA Fast Track a full-time or part-time program?

The Fast Track is a part-time program. It is a two-year, lock-step cohort MBA program that enables students to get many of the benefits of a full-time MBA program while continuing to work.

Yes. A one-week international trip occurs during the spring semester of the second year in conjunction with the Strategic Management for Global Organizations class.

Students take two classes per week, each meets once per week, (Tuesdays/Thursdays) from 6:00 to 9:30 pm in fall, spring, and summer. For the Philadelphia location, each class meets once a week (Mondays/Wednesdays) from 6:00 to 9:30 pm in fall, spring, and summer.

When should I apply?

Due to the small class size and competitive nature of the admissions process, applicants that are ready to submit an application are encouraged to apply for round one or two. The rigor of the selection process remains consistent throughout all rounds, but please note that Round 3 applications will only be considered if space remains in the class.

How many rounds are in the admissions process?

There are three rounds in the admissions process:

Main Campus/ Center City - Philadelphia:
Round 1: December 15
Round 2: February 15
Round 3: April 15
Round 4: June 30

Admission to The Villanova MBA Fast Track is highly competitive and the committee is focused on selecting candidates who will add value to the cohort experience by ensuring a diverse set of functional roles and industries are represented in the classroom. The review of applications is holistic and all elements of the application are carefully weighed. After an application has been submitted and the supporting materials have been received, the applicant will be contacted in order to schedule an interview with members of the admissions committee.
