Our learning environment is designed to encourage students to think differently, to collaborate with peers, and to partner with faculty. Our 21-month Executive MBA program begins in August of each year with a 3-day residency. Classes then meet every other week on Friday and Saturday at the Villanova University Conference Center. Midway through the program there is an international immersion where students will travel to a developing country.
What's unique about our program
Our Executive MBA curriculum was developed specifically for tomorrow's executive leaders. We did not simply take a traditional MBA program and reformat it. This program has been built from the ground up to meet the unique development and delivery format needs of today’s experienced professionals. The curriculum is organized into six streams that focus on the competencies that leaders need to succeed. Since most students already have an area of specialization (which may or may not be in a business field), our program does not include a specialization component but instead provides a broad, systemic knowledge base.
Our Executive MBA students are carefully selected to include a diverse mix of professionals. We ensure that our students can handle the academic rigor of the program, have the depth of experience to contribute substantively in a highly interactive learning environment, and have the desire to be an active member of our learning community. We’re proud that our students found the learning environment so collaborative that their feedback to a recent Wall Street Journal survey earned us the #1 spot in peer learning.
We’ve created a schedule that allows students to balance their professional and personal lives in a setting that heightens the learning experience. Click here for the schedule of classes. Recognizing that many of our students travel extensively, the EMBA program is delivered in a two-day format every other week. Classes are held bi-weekly on Fridays and Saturdays, providing students the opportunity to engage in classroom activities and collaborative study sessions free of distractions. In between class weekends, student groups collaborate either in person or through an online meeting interface, allowing them to successfully complete their group assignments.
At the start of the program, students receive an iPad, through which they can access all course materials electronically. Distance learning in certain courses also allows for a healthy school-work-life balance without losing any of the academic rigor of the program.
The executive coaching program is a one-on-one opportunity to work directly with a highly skilled and qualified coach. The coaching program begins in Module 1 with students receiving two hours of coaching per month for the duration of the program. Students work with their coach to identify opportunities for growth that align to their transformational goals. They will use these growth opportunities to measure progress in their journey and their coaching relationship.
