Creating New Workplaces Where Gender Diversity Thrives

Anna Marie Valerio, Ph.D.

Research shows that companies with the highest representation of women in leadership roles have better financial performance. But these companies are still not the norm – why not? Companies are now starting to explore the ways that “unconscious biases” undermine efforts toward achieving greater gender diversity in the workplace.

This interactive presentation will discuss a range of actions that companies and their leaders can take to create organizations that reflect the diversity of the global environment.  It will include tips and strategies that enable men and women alike to improve their leadership competencies and build relationships that foster success.

Presenting Opportunities for Women (POW) Conference

Featuring keynote speaker Judy Wicks, founder of the White Dog Cafe

This year's Women in Business POW Conference will feature Judy Wicks, founder of the White Dog Cafe and author of Good Morning Beautiful Business. Continuing with the spirit of entrepreneurship, the conference will continue with a panel discussion featuring fellow women entrepreneurs who will share their stories, successes and defeats, with us. We are excited to bring together women who have followed their dreams and hope they will inspire young women to do the same. The night will conclude with refreshments and networking.
