VSB Research & Publications

Research is sparked by intellectual curiosity and enriched by interactions with other scholars and business leaders around the globe. In addition to working with colleagues in their primary academic areas, many of our faculty members are engaged in multidisciplinary work within VSB or collaborate with faculty from other schools or departments. We have more than 90 scholars, researchers, and teachers who consistently contribute to leading journals and publications in every discipline of business. Each faculty member is dedicated to educating both undergraduate and graduate students in addition to pursuing their own research initiatives.

CGL Global Research Excellence Awards

The Center for Global Leadership rewards the authors of high-quality research papers in the areas of global leadership by providing $1,000 research excellence awards and $500 for honorable mentions. The winning papers are selected after rigorous blind-peer review and faculty present their research at the Center’s Global Research Seminar at the end of the spring semester. Given the importance of global leadership in today’s rapidly changing business environments, authors from all business disciplines are encouraged to submit their research in this highly competitive process. The paper must have a clear relationship to some aspect of global business and/or responsible leadership, broadly defined.

CGL Research Travel Grants

The Center for Global Leadership supports faculty committed to integrating global business perspectives into their research, teaching and outreach through international experience. Grants are limited to $1000 except in cases where faculty/staff are engaged in pre-approved activities related to program development and managing international partnerships.

Center for Undergraduate Research & Fellowship

The Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships was established in 2001 and has helped connect hundreds of Villanova students to programs of research and scholarship around the world. They provide support for three programs: Undergraduate Research at Villanova; National Scholarships and Fellowships; and, Villanova University's Presidential Scholarship

Journal of World Business

The Journal of World Business (JWB) has been housed at the Center for Global Leadership since September 2015 when CGL Faculty Director Dr. Jonathan Doh took over as editor-in-chief and CGL Director Kim Cahill assumed the role of managing editor.

JWB is a premier journal in the field of international business with a history dating to 1965 with the founding of the Columbia Journal of World Business. JWB publishes cutting edge research that reflects important developments in the global business environment and advances new theoretical directions and ways of thinking about global phenomena.

International Journal of Advertising

The International Journal of Advertising (IJA) publishes original contributions on all aspects of marketing communications from the academic, practitioner and public policy perspectives. It includes: advertising and media, direct marketing, sales promotions, sponsorship, public relations and integrated marketing communications (IMC).

Undergraduate Journal for Global Business and Community

The Journal for Global Business and Community is a multidisciplinary e-journal dedicated to serving those participating in and affected by the global economy. It offers undergraduate students a venue for publishing works that: explore the functional dimensions of global business organizations and behaviour; or, discuss the relationships between these businesses and the global economy with the political, social, cultural, economic, legal, technological and ethical issues derived from those relationships.
