Academic Life
- Research
We encourage our graduate students to conduct their own research and present their work at scholarly conferences. Competitive summer research fellowships are available. Students who plan to present their research at professional or scholarly conferences may apply for conference travel funding from the Dean of Graduate Studies. CONCEPT, Villanova's interdisciplinary journal of graduate studies, publishes graduate student research. - Writing Center
The Villanova Writing Center provides one-to-one session with a qualified tutor for graduate students who wish to improve their writing. Please read also our departmental Graduate Level Writing Guidelines. - Learning Support
Villanova provides academic ("study skills") counseling services (workshops on, e.g., self-management, self-motivation, time management, effective study methods) to all graduate students designed to help students achieve academic success.
Career Resources
Villanova University's Career Center supports the career development of our students and alumni by offering, among others,
- Career Fairs
- Tips and Guidelines (e.g., resume writing; networking; interviewing)
- Workshops (e.g., on resume writing; applying to graduate school; internships; interviewing; practice GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, and DAT tests)
- Credential Services (credentials are reference letters and other materials that support applications for employment or graduate study; establishing a credential file enables you to compile all of your resources in Career Services. Once this file is created your credentials can be presented in a concise, professional format).
