Our joint programs permit you to combine programs across disciplines, for example, the M.A. in Theology with a Certificate in History, Non-profit Management, Education, Gender and Women’s Studies, or Peace and Justice Studies.

This program combines the M.A. in Theology with the Certificate in History offered by the Department of History. It provides a unique opportunity to graduate students in theology who seek to advance their understanding of the historical context(s) of religious thought, institutions, and faith traditions.

This program is offered jointly by the Department of Theology and Religious Studies and the Department of Education and Counseling. The option to include course work in education is especially important for M.A. students whose professional goals include teaching Theology or Religion in Elementary Schools, High Schools, and Academies. The program can be completed in two years of full-time studies or in up to six years if you work while you pursue your career goals.

We offer this program jointly with the Department of Public Administration. It provides a unique opportunity to graduate students who are interested in pursuing careers in community and faith-based organizations that operate both domestically and abroad. The program trains you in the pragmatic skills needed for effective leadership, administration, and management while providing in-depth knowledge and experience in the various fields of theological inquiry. You can complete the program in two years of full-time studies or in up to six years of part-time studies.

The Certificate allows you to enhance your studies with a deeper knowledge of GWS, which has transformed scholarship and challenged fundamental assumptions in the humanities, social and natural sciences, and the professions. You can complete the program in two years of full-time studies or in up to six years of part-time studies.
