The Spanish Club offers great opportunity for student leadership. It is a way to get students involved in campus life, to know people, to help the Hispanic community, and to learn and promote the Hispanic values and traditions. The Spanish Club is sponsored by the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Villanova University.

The Spanish Club activities are organized around its three main purposes: the social-cultural; the academics; and the service for the community.
So far there have been two Executive Board meetings, and two general body meetings. In them, organization and financial issues were discussed, as well as planning for the future. It has been agreed that all members of the club, whatever his/her role, should commit to the agreed tasks at hand.
September 15: Mexican Independence Day Festival (Penn's Landing)
September 26: Club advertisement: Happy Friday, from 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM. A table reserved outside Connelly on the plateau between Connelly and Vasey.
October 6th: Majors Fair. Helped to put up a table, and advertise the Spanish Major.
SPANISH TABLE: Co-sponsors of this on-going event, esp by the bilingual members of the Spanish Club. We gather at the Spanish Table, in NOVA CAFÉ, together with the Grad TAs. And talk with undergrad students in Spanish. Every Wednesday, from 4pm-5pm.

COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM TALK
HELD BY THE SPANISH CLUB
On February 18, 2014 Ms. Morgan Gruenewald from the Villanovans for Comprehensive Immigration Reform gave a brief presentation in order to better inform the club regarding the current state of immigration legislation. She cited estimates and statistics for how many individuals cross the border every day, in addition to describing the hurdles that these immigrants face. The presentation also included summaries of different options for legislative reform, focusing on Comprehensive Reform and its benefits.
Morgan is a sophomore and is the president of Villanovans for Comprehensive Immigration Reform and a member of Catholic Relief Service's Immigration focus group on campus. Villanovans for Comprehensive Immigration Reform is a student led group that advocates for legislation reform by spreading awareness and lobbying.

November 21st: Helping Hands Meal Packaging from 11-2:30. AIM: To help package meals to send to famine-struck Burkina Faso.
