Congratulations to our 2016 Philly Fellows!

Sabrina Bernadel, who graduated with Bachelor of Arts in French and Francophone Studies and Psychology, is now a Philly Fellow and AmeriCorps VISTA working at a nonprofit called Year Up, a one-year workforce development program for young adults in Philadelphia.

Daniel Shea, who graduated with a Double Major in Spanish and Sociology, is now a Philly Fellow and will be working with Association Puertorriqueños en Marcha, coordinating comminuty outreach and volunteer recruitment efforts for the organization's Food Buying Club program.

Congratulations to our Marshall scholars,  French and Francophone studies majors!

Jessica Eby, a Presidential Scholar, graduated Villanova in 2014 with a double major in Biochemistry and French. She completed a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Grant in Laos in 2015 and then enrolled at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is currently in her second year.  For her Marshall Scholarship, she is proposing to study epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and medical anthropology at the University of Edinburgh.

Joana Petrescu who was a Biology and French and Francophone Studies double-major got it in Fall 2013 and was the first ever Marshall Scholar from Villanova at the time.

Five RMLL Students Chosen to Become Members of Phi Beta Kappa!

Congratulations to Romance Language majors Anna Bauer (French), Brigid Connolly (Spanish), Rachel Strouse (French), Kimberly Tower (French), & Claire VanAsdale (Spanish) who were chosen to become members of Phi Beta Kappa this year! Phi Beta Kappa is the most prestigious National honor society in the Humanities in the United States for Scholarly Accomplishments.

CONGRATULATIONS TO RYAN MORRISON ON HIS BRASA AWARD

Ryan Morrison, Graduate Student in the Hispanic Studies Program,  was awarded a BRASA scholarship to study in Brazil this summer 2015. Mr.Ryan Morrison received a BA in History and a Certificate in Latin American Studies from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009.  BRASA is an international, interdisciplinary group of scholars who support and promote Brazilian studies in all fields, especially in the humanities and social sciences and is granted by the Brazilian Studies Association. The award attests for the high quality of  proposals,  selected among a large number of very good applications from different fields. The award amount is $1,500.
