The MPA Program welcomes new faculty member, Lauren Miltenberger, Ph.D.

Lauren Miltenberger, Ph.D. joins Villanova University after completing her doctoral work at the University of Delaware. At the University of Delaware, Lauren was involved as a core faculty member in the design and implementation of a new undergraduate public policy program. Lauren's research experience includes being a co-leader of a mixed method study investigating the relationship between nonprofit social service providers and the state of Delaware. The Urban Institute is currently using this study as a model for a new national project on the nonprofit-government relationship. Prior to attending the University of Delaware, Lauren held executive nonprofit management positions and worked for a public policy research institute at Rutgers University. Her primary research interests include nonprofit management, governance and leadership issues and the intersection between nonprofits and government in the modern welfare state. She teaches Financial Management, Public Personnel Management, and Decision-Making in the MPA Program.

Villanova Partnership Invests in Future

A new video created by Graduate Assistants Ana Henandez (MPA 2011) and Elysia House highlights the impact of Villanova's partnership with School of the Future (SOF). For anyone not familiar with the West Philadelphia high school, developed by the School District of Philadelphia and Microsoft, the video provides a firsthand look at the technology-based education model and effect on students, teachers and volunteers. They hope that the best practices of SOF will influence schools around the world to better prepare students for an increasing digital world and global economy.
