The Department supports students interested in forming teams to participate in the Model Organization of American States (OAS), the Model United Nations (UN), and the
Model Arab League (AL).
The Model Organization of American States
The Model OAS is sponsored by the OAS and usually is held in Washington D.C. for a week in the spring. Student delegations from universities throughout the United States, Canada and Latin America serve on committees that debate topics of pressing interest in the Western Hemisphere.
The Model United Nations
The Model UN is held on college campuses in the United States and in other nations. Villanova is invited to many Model UNs. Student interest helps determine which Model UN invitation to accept or seek. Teams represent nations and non-governmental organizations affiliated with the UN.
The Model Arab League
The Model AL is held in Washington, DC in the Spring Semester for four days and is sponsored by the National Council on U.S. - Arab Relations. Teams represent the governments of Arab states and work on issues confronting the Arab world, such as economic, environmental, social, security, defense, and political issues.
If you are interested in being part of a team, contact the Program Coordinator who will direct you to the appropriate faculty advisor for each model.
