Minor in Philosophy

Students can minor in Philosophy by taking five courses offered by the Philosophy Department including PHI 1000 - Knowledge, Reality, Self.  The philosophy minor is open to students from Arts and Sciences, VSB, Engineering, and Nursing.  Having a philosophy minor on the transcript sends a signal to professional schools (such as law and med school) that the applicant has training in clear writing, critical thinking, and an ability to analyze difficult concepts. Please call the Philosophy Department, 610 519 4690 for more information or for an appointment to discuss the philosophy minor.  No more than  two of the five courses required for the minor may be taken from this list:

  • PHI 2010 - Logic & Critical Thinking
  • PHI 2115 - Ethics for Health Care Prof
  • PHI 2150 - Engineering Ethics
