Prominent Authors Set to Visit Villanova University for Literary Festival

01.24.13 VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Department of English in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Villanova University will host its 15th Annual Literary Festival beginning on January 31. Throughout the spring semester, distinguished authors and poets will present lectures and readings to the Villanova community. Students will have the opportunity to meet the authors and discuss their works, after having read them as part of their English coursework. All events start at 7 p.m., are free and open to the public. Each presentation will be followed by a reception and book signing.

    Speaker’s Corner – Falvey Library

  • February 28, 2013
    Claire Vaye Watkins, Battleborn
    The DeLeon Room (Room 300) – St. Augustine Center

  • March 21, 2013
    Mary O’Malley, Valparaiso
    President’s Lounge – Connelly Center

  • April 16, 2013
    Junot Díaz, This Is How You Lose Her
    Connelly Cinema – Connelly Center
    Diaz won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the National Book Critics Circle award for his novel, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao.

The Literary Festival is co-sponsored by Irish Studies, Gender and Women’s Studies, Africana Studies, Falvey Library, The Honors Program, Villanova Writing Center and Modern Language and Literature.
