Graduation for Applied Statistics

In 1954, Villanova University started a Master's of Science in Applied Statistics program, which offers a course of study focusing on the training of statisticians for industry, government and academia. For many students, this will represent a final graduate statistics degree, offering them greater potential for professional advancement. For some students, this degree will be a stepping-stone toward a doctorate in statistics or in a related field.

In 1956, Villanova University inaugurated the Master's of Arts in Mathematics program. A degree candidate may train for work as a systems analyst for a management consulting firm, a statistician for a drug corporation, an operations research analyst, a high school teacher, a two-year college teacher, a candidate for a doctoral program in mathematics, an actuary for an insurance company or for a number of other careers in mathematics.

We also offer Certificates in Applied StatisticsTeaching of Secondary-School Mathematics, and a Post-Master's Certificate in Mathematics.
