The total cost of the campus HRD degree program is less than all but one of the other local institutions which provide programs in the HR area.  Our students can enroll in full-time status which allows them to qualify for financial assistance and potentially for merit-based scholarships and assistantships.



Real-World Expertise

Courses are taught by tenured faculty and experienced adjunct instructors who are respected HR professionals.  All instructors strive to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. For more than  thirty years, the HRD faculty members have been actively engaged and have served as leaders in area professional associations.

Villanova is only 12 miles west of Philadelphia and is easily accessible by car, train or bus, with mass transit stops located right on campus. Personal Attention

Classes average 10 to 20 students to allow for individual attention and the opportunity to expand your professional network. In addition, each student has an assigned academic advisor who provides guidance and support for course planning and professional advice.

Internships and Mentoring

If you are new to HR, you can gain practical, on-the-job experience under the guidance of an experienced HR professional in one or more internships. Internships are a fundamental cornerstone of our program and our alumni have provided numerous testimonials, crediting their internship experience as launching careers and defining ambitions. In addition, the mentoring program allows students to expand their knowledge base and to develop their professional network by pairing them with experienced HR professionals.


Award-Winning SHRM Chapter

The Villanova University Society of Human Resource Management (VU SHRM) student chapter provides excellent professional development and networking opportunities for students and alumni. The chapter sponsors an annual networking reception which is attended by hundreds of professionals. We have been consistently honored with the Superior Merit Award for chapter excellence by the Society for Human Resource Management.
