Admission

Applicants to the Graduate Programs in Human Resource Development must hold a bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by one of the regional accrediting agencies, with an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0.

The Office of Graduate Studies, which coordinates and manages the application process, has detailed information on general application requirements and the application process. Specific HRD application requirements for each program can be found below.

M.S. Degree Application Requirements

  • Application for admission online.
  • Application fee: $50 payable by credit card online. The fee is waived for students with a Villanova degree and participants of the Graduate Open House (held in the fall and spring semesters).
  • Transcripts:
    •  Step 1 - You may upload unofficial copies of your transcripts in the online application in order to receive an admission decision. However, those who are offered admission must complete the following process in order to enroll.
    • Step 2- Official transcripts of all previous college work undergraduate (and graduate where applicable), must be sent directly from your registrar's office to the Office of Graduate Studies at Villanova. (Applicants in their last year of undergraduate study who have not completed their bachelor’s degree should provide a transcript of all courses completed at the time of application, and submit an official transcript when the undergraduate degree is completed.)
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE): Please note that GRE scores from tests taken more than five years before the date of application will not be accepted.
    • Waiver of GRE Requests:
      • Requestors must have at least 10 years of experience
      • Official request must submitted in writing (via email) to Dr. David Bush, HRD Program Director (please copy Senior Administrative Assistant, Regina Sorgini, in the email). 
      • Requests should include the following items:
        • Personal Statement (why the request is being made)
        • Resume
        • Unofficial Transcripts
      • Waiver requests must be submitted prior to beginning the application process.
  • Personal Statement: This statement should explain your interest in the field of Human Resources, as well as your interest in the program offered at Villanova University.

Pre- and Post-Master's Certificate Program Application Requirements

  • Application for admission online.

Non-Matriculated Student Application Requirements

  • This student status is intended for HR professionals seeking to enroll in classes for professional development
  • This status allows students to enroll in up to 6 credits in the HRD program.
  • Application Requirements:
    • Application for admission online
    • Application fee. $50 payable by credit card online.
    • Transcripts. Transcripts of all previous college work (undergraduate and graduate where applicable). For Summer and Fall 2013 entry, unofficial copies may be uploaded online for review. Official copies are required if an offer of admission is made to you.
