Academic Programs

Villanova's Graduate Programs in Human Resource Development have been designed to accommodate the needs of all types of students. Campus courses are offered in the evenings and on weekends, allowing students to both work and pursue their education simultaneously.

We offer a Master of Science (campus & online), Pre- and Post-Master's Certificates, and a combined Bachelors/Masters program to accommodate a range of student needs. Core courses have been approved to qualify for recertification of those who are certified in HR through HRCI or SHRM.

Master of Science - On Campus

The Master of Science in Human Resource Development degree is a generalist program that provides students with a comprehensive overview of the HR field. The courses provide a practical environment where students have the opportunity to perform many of the business activities that practitioners regularly encounter.

Master of Science - Online

If you have prior experience in the Human Resources field, you are eligible to apply to our fully online Master of Science in Human Resource Development program.

HRD Certificates

Each of the four HRD certificates allow for students to develop a specialization in an area of HR. Certificates can be completed independently, or in conjunction with the MS degree. Click below to view details for each certificate.

Combined Programs: Bachelors/Masters

For current Villanova undergraduates, we offer two combined Bachelors/Masters program options:

  • B.A. in Psychology with an M.S. in HRD
  • B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (General Studies or Leadership Studies) with an M.S. in HRD

In both programs, students take both graduate and undergraduate courses during their senior year. Several graduate courses count for both graduate and undergraduate credit.
