The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Villanova University is an ideal place to pursue your graduate education. Our extensive program offerings in Graduate Liberal Arts and Sciences include more than twenty master's degrees, more than forty pre- and post-master's certificates, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy.

Our faculty of recognized scholars  are passionate about creating a learning experience to meet your educational needs and goals. We offer small evening classes at affordable tuition rates. You can choose  part- or full-time study, and you may qualify for assistantships and research funding. These are just some of the advantages of graduate studies at Villanova. Open House

Learn all about Villanova’s many graduate degree and certificate programs in Liberal Arts and Sciences at our upcoming Spring Open House on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, from 3:30 to 7 pm on the Villanova campus. You can meet with faculty, learn about financial aid, and drop in on one of our 30-minute seminars on individual Masters programs.  Get advice about planning for your future career, and find out why many experts now consider the Masters degree the “new Bachelors.”  We waive the application fee for attendees of the Open House! For more information and to register please visit the Open House website.

As we complete the transition to new application software, we have extended the deadline for applications to master’s programs from February 1 to February 17; to see whether your program is affected go to deadline information.

  • The Department of Theology announces Villanova University’s Inaugural Graduate Theology Conference: “Faith and Culture: Theologians of the Future in Dialogue”
    The 2012 Theme: The Role of the Theologian in the Public Square
    Date: April 20th, 2012, 3:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. 
    Paper proposals are invited. Proposals that address the theological, biblical, philosophical, religious, ethical, spiritual, ministerial, or historical dimensions of the theme are especially welcome. The deadline for submission is February 20. More information is available below.

  • Dr. Matthew Mattell, associate professor of Psychology, has been named the winner of the D. G. Marquis Award for 2011.  This award is given annually to recognize the best paper of the year published in Behavioral Neuroscience, a journal of the American Psychological Association.  Dr. Mattell’s paper was entitled “A heterogeneous population code for elapsed time in rat medial agranular cortex.”  He had several co-authors, including M.S. alumnus, A. George Wilson, and former post-doctoral fellow, Cindy Gooch.
