Committee Charge
The College IT Committee is charged with advising the Dean’s Office with respect to both addressing short-term issues that may arise and developing longer-term strategies aimed at IT approaches to facilitating the teaching/learning, scholarship, and service functions of the College, and carried out by College faculty, staff, and students. The Dean’s office may request that the College IT Committee gather data and/or provide recommendations either on an ad hoc basis or with respect to ongoing IT development and implementation within the College.
Structure and Operation
The Committee will be chaired by the College’s Manager of IT Operations, and will be comprised to 12 faculty or full-time staff, four each from the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Each committee member will serve a three year term, staggered so that there are three new members (one from the humanities, sciences, and social sciences) at the beginning of each academic year. Within 2 weeks of the start of the semester, the Manager of IT Operations will email faculty and full-time staff in the College, seeking volunteers to serve on the Committee. If three are more volunteers than openings, the Associate Deans for Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences, in consultation with the manager of IT Operations, will select new Committee members.
The Committee will meet at least twice a semester, but may meet more frequently if needed. Minutes will be taken and will be posted on a SharePoint site, accessible by the Committee, the Dean of the College, and the Associate Deans for Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences.
