We encourage you to undertake at least one internship for credit during your time as an English major. There are a number of exciting internships available. For instance, each semester one or two English majors have the rare opportunity to spend a semester doing a co-op with Sports Illustrated in New York.
You will receive personal assistance in identifying an internship that matches your interests from our department's advisor for internships, Professor Jody Ross, who has extensive connections and knowledge. You are always welcome to contact Prof. Ross with any questions. An additional resource for finding internships is the College's Internship Office, on the first floor of SAC. (You must apply at the Internship Office to receive academic credit for an internship.) Many announcements of internships that are particularly suited to English majors are sent out by the department chair; they appear on the department blog as well.
