The Graduate Education Program leads to the degree of Master of Arts in Education (MA). The general purpose of the University is to provide its students with a liberal education- an education laying emphasis upon the training of the critical faculty; cultivation of a wide breadth of learning; development of the student's wholeness as an individual possessed of both body and soul. Villanova University offers three concentrations for individuals interested in earning an MA in Education.
Master of Arts with a Concentration in Graduate Education -
A full or part-time program offered for teachers seeking to obtain a Master of Arts degree (special note: this program does not lead to initial teacher certification).Application Requirements
Master of Arts with a Concentration in Teacher Leadership -
A full or part-time program offered for school personnel seeking to apply their knoledge and skills to the larger school community (special note: this program does not lead to initial teacher certification). Application Requirements
Master of Arts in Education plus Teacher Certification -
An intensive, 12-month, full-time program offering those without an education background a Master of Arts degree plus teacher certification. Application Requirements

A fifteen credit program for post-baccalaureate students planning careers in education or related fields (special note: this program does not lead to initial teacher certification.
A fifteen credit program for post-baccalaureate and post master's students who wish to develop their leadership ability for use in the classroom or in roles such as lead teacher, curriculum developer, department chair, new teacher mentor or special project leader.
