The Gerald M. Lemole, M.D., Endowed Chair in Integrative Biology was inaugurated to celebrate the Augustinian legacy of Villanova University through the development and implementation of an ethical and socially responsible program that includes scholarly interactions with undergraduate and graduate students. Work of an integrative biologist incorporates diverse perspectives and disciplines from the biological and physical sciences to explore biological questions and to unravel the complexity of biological systems.
Dennis D. Wykoff, Associate Professor and Dennis M. Cook Endowed Gregor Mendel Chair in Genetics
Villanova University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences honored its connection to Gregor Mendel by establishing the Dennis M. Cook Endowed Gregor Mendel Chair in Genetics. Recognizing the broad brush of genetics in the 21st century, the Chair was established to focus on classical inheritance, functional genomics, gene expression, bioinformatics, evolutionary genetics, or other areas that integrate genes and/or genomic material into a research program.
