Curriculum

Listed below are science courses either required or appropriate as electives for undergraduate Biochemistry majors. In some departments, courses are offered only once a year, or only once every other year; the pattern of past offering may indicate likely future availability, but check with your advisor for current information about specific courses. Biology and Chemistry courses numbered 7000 and higher can be taken by qualified undergraduates. Consult with your advisor about requirements and procedures.

* Suggested schedule for an incoming FR declaring Biochemistry as their major; students transferring into this major may require a modified schedule and some course substitutions. To achieve the desired level of flexibility and to facilitate transfer into the major, the following substitutions will be approved:
Allow CHM 1311/01 and 1512/02 to substitute for 1151/03 and 1152/04.
Allow CHM 3211/01 and 3212/02 to substitute for 2211/01 and 2212/02.
Allow MAT 1310/15 to substitute (the Biology major calculus courses).
Allow PHY 1100/01 and 1102/03 to substitute (the Biology major physics courses).
