Villanova’s Department of Biology comprises 20 tenured and tenure-track faculty members, along with additional instructors, adjunct faculty members, visiting faculty members, and post-doctoral fellows, all supported by skilled and dedicated staff. Our teaching efforts focus on an outstanding undergraduate program, graduating about 80 majors each year, as well as excellent graduate programs at the Masters level. The faculty is active and productive in research across a broad range of biological subdisciplines, and we pride ourselves in offering opportunities for students at all levels to make significant contributions to all phases of laboratory and field investigation.

Villanova’s Department of Chemistry comprises 20 tenured and tenure-track faculty members, along with additional instructors, adjunct faculty members, visiting faculty members, and post-doctoral fellows, all supported by skilled and dedicated staff. The Department supports a wide array of modern instrumentation exceptional for an institution of our size. Approximately 15 majors graduate each year with B.S. degrees. The Department supports a Masters program that trains the next generation of teachers and laboratory researchers. The faculty is active and productive in research across a broad range of chemistry subdisciplines, and offer extensive opportunity for faculty-mentored undergraduate and graduate research.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences is committed to exemplary teaching and learning, scholarship, and service. Our courses are designed to provide every student with the technical background they will need, and to inculcate a love for the "veritas" of logical thought and elegant reasoning. Our aim is that our mathematics graduates can formalize, define, analyze, prove, and communicate mathematical results.

The Department of Physics offers a program which combines a flexible curriculum in all areas of theoretical and experimental physics with a strong liberal arts component. Course work for a physics degree includes the study of thermodynamics, electromagnetism, electronics, classical and quantum mechanics, nuclear physics, computational physics, and mathematical physics. The department also offers advanced courses in both the fascinating world of theoretical physics and the intricacies of the experimental realm.
