Welcome Joyce E. A. Russell, PhD, The Helen and William O'Toole Dean of the Villanova School of Business

Villanova University President the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, announced the appointment of Joyce E.A. Russell, PhD, as The Helen and William O'Toole Dean of the Villanova School of Business (VSB) earlier this summer. VSB officially welcomed her August 1. A leader in business education recognized for her commitment to teaching and research, Russell served as Senior Associate Dean of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at The University of Maryland at College Park.

VSB, Ohio State, KPMG Team Up to Launch New Master of Accounting with Analytics Program

VSB, The Ohio State University Max M. Fisher College of Business, and audit, tax and advisory firm KPMG LLP have created a new learning approach for graduate business students by launching a master’s program that emphasizes analytics in accounting. Created to develop auditors suited for the data age, the program will teach students to think critically and develop problem-solving and analytical skills.

At VSB, we take great pride in our excellent faculty. We have prolific researchers who are also gifted in teaching our students and preparing them for the future. We are excited to announce our newest faculty members:
Kathleen M. Iacocca, PhD: Dr. Iacocca joins the Management & Operations department as an assistant professor after serving as an assistant professor at her alma mater, the University of Scranton, for the past five years. After graduating with a BS in Finance and an MBA from the University of Scranton, she received her PhD in supply chain marketing and marketing science from Rutgers University’s School of Business.
Manuela Priesemuth, PhD: After serving as an assistant professor at the School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada, Dr. Priesemuth joins VSB’s community as an assistant professor in the Management & Operations department. She graduated with a BS in Business Administrations from the College of St. Mary, an MBA in International Business from Creighton University, and a PhD in Department Management from the University of Central Florida. Her areas of research interest include workplace deviance, leadership, behavioral ethics/prosocial behavior, and organizational justice.
Raisa T. Velthuis, PhD: A native of the Netherlands, Dr. Velthuis received her BS and MS in Econometrics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam. She earned her MBA in Finance from the University of Rochester and her PhD in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University. Her areas of research interest includes empirical asset pricing, hedge funds, mutual funds, investments, and financial institutions. She joins VSB’s Finance department as an assistant professor.
