The Office of Research Administration (ORA) at Villanova University provides service to faculty, staff, and students while protecting the institution in sponsored programs, technology transfer, and research compliance.

Research Administration Recognizes the PI of the Month

Each month, Research Administration recognizes a Principal Investigator (“PI”) who contributed positively to the administration of research at Villanova, including both grants administration and research compliance. PIs are nominated for: being proactive, improving processes, collaborating effectively, and demonstrating concern for quality. Recipients receive a small gift from Research Administration, and recognition to the Chair and Dean of their department/college.

For April Research Administration recognizes Dr. Jacob Elmer,  Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering.

Dr. Elmer is recognized for his effective and efficient use of NovaPay for reconciling Pcard reports.  He creates small reports sorted by index and ensures legible itemized receipts are attached.  This results in fewer rejections, quicker reviews, and a reduction in the burden on other approvers.  On his own initiative, he streamlined the process and has distinguished himself as a model for best practices.  He also contributed to forthcoming informational materials which will be made available for the VU community.

Many thanks to Dr. Elmer and to the rest of the nominees for this month, for your positive contributions to Villanova!
